"The Ties That Bind" Learning Event

At the request from El Paso Area, a member of the Delegate Resource Team, Tom K. came in to assist in an in-depth explanation and clarification of the H & I process. The agenda contained several other subjects, including: Pass the Basket, Predatory/Disruptive Behavior, and Service and Roles of the Homegroup. Mock H&I panels were set up and were asked questions from the audience. The panel had an opportunity to elaborate on all inquiries. The EP Area had put a basket of NA memorabilia for auction with proceeds going to the Rio Grande Region. Tom brought NA commemorative items which he donated for prizes given out throughout the day. Including members who were there for service, a total of 42 people were in attendance, with many newcomers. During the short breaks, I was asking members if had they learned anything new? The responses were very positive. Even the local H&I chair agreed, he and I had learned something new. The event was well-received and I believe made a very positive impact to this Area.

50th Anniversary of the World Service Conference — Theme: Our Common Welfare
- ✓ Adopted the collaborative plan created over the course of the cycle
- ✓ Seated Afghanistan Region and 10 Brazil Region
- ✓ Adopted IP #21, Staying Clean in Isolation
- ✓ Approved a plan to revise IP #1 with gender-neutral language (see draft below)
- ✓ Agreed to revise A Guide to Local Services in NA; IP #2, The Group; and The Group Booklet
- ✓ A Guide to World Services in NA will be revised to reflect changes proposed as part of the 3-year cycle project
- ✓ Agreed to address our generational and cultural diversity by adapting our communication methods using newer technology
- ✓ Agreed to create a project plan relating to NA literature on inmate tablets
